Peace in Christ
Text by Nik Day
Arranged by Rachel Andelin Ellingson
"All of us face sudden storms. In our mortal life of trials and tests, we may feel distressed, discouraged, and disappointed. Our hearts break for ourselves and those we love. We worry and fear and sometimes lose hope. During such times, we may also cry out, “Master, carest thou not that I perish?" If we welcome Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, into our boat, we need not be frightened. We will know that we can find peace amidst the storms that swirl inside us and around us.” - Dieter F Uchtdorf
“We [all deal] with dramatic and unexpected events. Amid such uncertainty, there is only one way to feel at peace—the real peace that passes all understanding. That peace is found in faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.”- President Russell M Nelson
“It is through the Savior Jesus Christ and His healing atoning sacrifice that we are enabled to stand tall and strong, even in the face of adversity. The Savior’s healing power fills our souls with peace, light, understanding, joy, and love.” -Elder Ulisses Soares
“‘These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world’ (John 16:33).
“Some of you may believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He offered an infinite and eternal atoning sacrifice. But you also may believe that His Atonement works for everybody else—but not you. You exercise faith in the Savior but may not believe that all of His promised blessings are available to you or can operate in your life. We more fully come to know the Lord as we not only believe in Him but also believe Him and His assurances. Believing Him—accepting as true His power and promises—invites perspective, peace, and joy into our lives. His Atonement is individual; it is personal. And it is for each of us.” -Elder David A. Bednar
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27).”
"Jesus is a man like no other. As the Son of God, He was called to fulfill a mission no other could fulfill. Through His Atonement, and in a way we cannot fully comprehend, the Savior took upon Himself “pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind” (Alma 7:11) and “the cumulative weight of all mortal sins.” Though He owed no debt to justice, He suffered the “whole … demands of justice” (Alma 34:16). - Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf
“He had committed no wrong. Nevertheless, an accumulation of all of the guilt, the grief and sorrow, the pain and humiliation, all of the mental, emotional, and physical torments known to man—He experienced them all.” - Boyd K Packer
“Through a divine endowment born of searing torment, and out of love for us, Jesus Christ paid the price to redeem us, to strengthen us, and to save us. It is only through the Atonement that we can find the peace we so badly want and need in this life.” - Dieter F Uchtdorf
“[Jesus Christ] gave His life as a vicarious Atonement, overcoming death and providing redemption for all mankind. I promise that following His light and example will bring us more joy, happiness, and peace in this life than anything else.” -Elder Quentin L. Cook
“The everlasting peace Jesus promises is an inner peace, born in faith, anchored by testimony, nurtured with love, and expressed through continual obedience and repentance. It is a peace of spirit that echoes through the heart and the soul. … Peace—real peace—whole-souled to the very core of your being—comes only in and through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.” -President M. Russell Ballard
“Jesus Christ… can… lighten our burdens. He has power to heal individuals and nations. He has shown us the way to true peace, for He is “The Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6). The peace the Savior offers could transform all of human existence if God’s children would allow it. His life and teachings give us ways to feel His peace if we will turn to Him. Brothers and sisters, dear friends, we live in perilous times. Nations are perplexed, judgment is upon the land, and peace has been taken from the earth ( Doctrine and Covenants 1:35; 88:79). But peace need not be taken from our hearts, even if we must suffer, grieve, and wait on the Lord.” -Dieter F Uchtdorf
“For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace.” (1 Corinthians 14:33)
“Studying the life of our Savior brings us closer to Him. ... I invite you to take the time to know the Prince of Peace—His birth, life, message, and resurrection. The more we learn of Him and follow His example, the more peace we can feel in tumultuous times.” -Elder Jeffrey R. Holland
“Learn of me, and listen to my words; walk in the meekness of my Spirit, and you shall have peace in me” (Doctrine and Covenants 19:23)
“Because of the sacrifice of our beloved Redeemer, death has no sting, the grave has no victory, wrongs will be made right, and Satan has no lasting power.”- Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf
“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning (Psalm 30:5).”
“Christ’s perfect, deep, and everlasting love gives us the confidence to press through our fears... We can place our complete trust in Him, even through the most trying times.” “Because of Jesus Christ and His Atonement, our prayers will be answered. Timing belongs to God, but I testify that our righteous desires will one day be realized and that all our losses will be made up to us, provided we use the divine gift of repentance and remain faithful.”- Elder Dieter F Uchtdorf
“Peace is found in faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. When He suffered for our sins and weaknesses, died on the cross, and rose again, the Savior rewrote humanity’s story. Because of Him, we do not have to deal with our frailties, sins, and fears alone. Because of Him, death is not the end. Resurrection will come to all who have ever lived. Because of Him, families can be together forever.” (Russell M. Nelson)
"God be thanked for the matchless gift of His divine Son." (The Living Christ)

In late 2022, three friends—each independently considering the creation of faith-centered performing groups—began a series of conversations that ultimately led to the founding of Heart+Voice, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
What united them was a shared desire to use the power of music and dance to bring people closer to Jesus Christ.

We inspire discipleship to Jesus Christ by praising the Lord with heart and voice, praising His name in the dance, and encircling others in the arms of His love.

Heart+Voice first began presenting productions throughout Utah County and along the Wasatch Front, including Sing Redeeming Love, Hope Out Loud, Converted Unto the Lord, and BECOME. The organization later expanded with the creation of a Mesa, Arizona branch.
Mesa Heart+Voice Productions has since presented Glorious Daughters, Sing Redeeming Love, and Converted Unto the Lord. This concert marks the group’s fourth local production and its first collaboration with another choir. We are honored to partner with Arizona Saints Chorale and deeply admire their mission and program.
Heart+Voice will be holding auditions this summer for a second run of the beloved Book of Mormon oratorio, Converted Unto the Lord. The Converted Unto the Lord album can be listened to on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music and other major streaming platforms. Singers, narrators and instrumentalists of all ages and experience levels are warmly invited to audition. Additional information can be found at heartandvoice.org.
